Frequently Asked Questions

Does Next 18 pay for transportation costs?

At this time, Next 18 does not cover transportation to or from the camp location. This will remain the responsibility of each participant for the foreseeable future.

What does Next 18 pay for?

Next 18 covers the following during camp:

  • Group lodging (double occupancy, when required)
  • Lunch and dinner each day of camp
  • Greens fees for all scheduled tee times, including carts or push carts

Note: Not all camps require overnight lodging. Please read the camp details carefully when registering.

What financial responsibilities do I have if I attend camp?

As a participant, you will be responsible for:

  • A refundable deposit to hold your spot (returned after completing camp)
  • Transportation to and from the camp location
  • Any additional food or snacks outside of provided meals
  • Any shopping at pro shops or outside vendors
Do I get my own room at the hotel?

Lodging is double occupancy. You should plan to have a roommate. Private rooms are not guaranteed and are not covered by Next 18.

When should I plan to arrive and depart?
  • Arrival: Check-in is on Sunday (the day before camp begins). Please plan to arrive around 4:00 PM to meet with staff and settle in.
  • Departure: Camp typically ends on Thursday by 3:00 PM. (There may be minimal exceptions.)
What if I need an extra day in the hotel?
Next 18 can help coordinate extended lodging if needed, but any additional nights are the participant’s financial responsibility.
Is there an itinerary I can see?
Next 18 maintains a level of discretion around the layout and process of the program. We ask participants to trust the process upon arrival.

Camp staff will provide ample information as needed, but the focus is on being present, which is best supported when participants are not preoccupied with a rigid schedule.

When do I get an intake appointment with the clinician?

Next 18 manages camp placement in chronological order to ensure ease and organization. Intake appointments with our clinician are scheduled based on the timeline of upcoming camps, allowing us to prepare efficiently as each camp approaches.

Why didn’t I get a place in the camp after completing the intake interview?

Due to a high volume of applicants, we manage the process based on application date and camp availability.

If you completed an intake interview but were not selected, you will remain on our waitlist and may be considered for a future camp.

While placement is not guaranteed, we do our best to give consideration to those who have successfully completed the intake process.

How many people go to camp?

Next 18 invites twelve (12) applicants to attend each camp. We intentionally manage a smaller group size to support the development of meaningful connection and camaraderie between participants.

Important: If selected, it is imperative that you check your email regularly and respond to all communications leading up to and during camp.
Failure to respond may result in removal from the camp without a deposit refund.
We ask that when you commit, you do so with the understanding that your time away is manageable for both your personal and professional life.

Can my spouse/partner and I attend the same camp?

While we understand the value of shared experiences, Next 18 does not allow spouses or partners to attend the same camp.

This approach is designed to ensure that participants can fully engage with the mental health components of the program without distractions. We encourage you and your spouse or partner to apply for separate camps, providing each of you with a dedicated space for personal growth and connection with fellow participants.
