*As a newer non-profit, we are able to offer golf, lessons, mental health, and lodging (overnight camps only) currently, free of charge to our participants.
Some of the courses we play require caddies. When able, we will cover the cost of caddies. Prior to acceptance into a camp, we will communicate with you if there is a need for you to cover these costs. Eventually we expect to have enough funding to cover all aspects of a camp, but we are still growing!
The same goes for food. While we provide snacks and drinks during the day, we do ask that our participants purchase their own food during the camps. For day camps, this means eating breakfast before arriving, and purchasing lunch. We work with the courses to get food at a discount, and when available, we will work with courses and sponsors to cover these costs.
We will not expect you to cover anything else beyond food and caddies, if needed. Again, as we grow, we will be able to cover these as well.
What’s at Camp
3.5 day golf camps, offered free of charge to veterans with disabilities and first responders. Next 18 facilitates a golf camp mindset woven with mental health and holistic lifestyle resource modules. We provide introductions to resources such as yoga, meditation, breathwork, mindfulness and body scans, small group therapy sessions, reiki, journaling and others.
We strive to create a safe environment to bring 10-12 participants together at a time on some of the best golf courses in the country, as we share our traumas and defeat the stigmas of not asking for help, hiding from our emotions, and just “sucking it up”.
While we provide a myriad of resources and training, Next 18 is not capable or responsible for diagnosing and treating both diagnosed and undiagnosed mental health disorders and illnesses. Our program presents a multitude of resources that we hope our campers will connect with and find helpful post-camp as they navigate a healthier and happier life on their own journeys.
