Next 18 Participant Policy

Attending Next 18 Camp is a special experience that allows us to support our First Responders and
Veterans on a journey of wellness and healing. We ask that you take an acceptance to camp very
seriously and make the appropriate arrangements in both your personal and professional lives to
accommodate being fully present for a 4.5-day experience. If it does not feel like you can fully
commit to camp at this time, we invite you to stay connected via social media outlets and apply
when it makes sense for you.

Substance Use Policy:

Next 18 camps are strictly substance-free. No use of alcohol or recreational drugs is permitted
during camp activities or on camp premises. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate
dismissal from the camp and forfeiture of the camp deposit.

Lodging:

All participants who are invited to a camp are REQUIRED to stay in the lodging that Next 18
provides, with the exception of our Hawaii, Erin Hills, and Kohler camps, where lodging will be the
responsibility of the participant. The check-in date will always be the day prior to camp
commencement; check-out will be the last day of camp. Accommodations consist of shared rooms
and are paid for by Next 18 as part of your camp experience. Only room incidentals will be charged
to a personal credit card, as Next 18 will not be responsible for additional room charges, service,
damage, etc.

Holding Fee:

All participants who are invited to a camp will be expected to pay a $250 fee to hold their spot once
they have accepted the invitation to attend. This fee serves to increase commitment. Our camps
require a significant amount of planning, which translates to MANY hours of planning for staff. This
fee will be fully refunded after camp has ended. If an invited applicant needs to surrender his/her
spot at camp, at any time after payment is sent to Next 18, reimbursement is not guaranteed. Any
reason short of an emergency or hospitalization will not be accepted.

Transportation:

All participants who are invited to a camp are required to pay for travel to and from the location of
camp, at their own expense. When applying for a camp, if flying is not a feasible option, we
encourage applicants to choose a camp location that is within a reasonable driving distance. Next
18 will assist in transportation between lodging and the course via Uber and/or personal vehicles.

Caddies:

Next 18 is currently unable to pay for caddies for our campers. This is due to the nature of the cash
transaction and accounting purposes. Many camps are caddy-only, no carts, with the option to have
a caddy assigned prior to arrival. Campers choosing to use a caddy should be prepared to pay the
caddy fee as well as offer gratuity, in accordance with the course protocol. Please review the
course’s recommendations for gratuity and any applicable caddy fees.
